kellansmith

Name: Kellan Smith

Bio: I got into comics as a kid by reading X-Men (it was about the time the Saturday morning cartoon came out). Then I moved to a town where I couldn't get a steady supply of comics so I gave them up. After graduating from college I found I had extra time on my hands so I started collecting again. I have a definite Marvel slant, although I'm still a sucker for an indie title.

December 7, 2011 11:58 am I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've enjoyed the series since issue 1 and can't wait to see how Ennis pulls it all together.
December 6, 2011 11:37 am The people on this board saying they don't want the series to end are the people that are pulling it. It's too bad it's going to end, but I'm honestly happy that the series has lasted as long as it has and Marjorie Liu has been allowed to take it to such great places. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/12/04/oh-wait-i-get-it-once-again-its-all-our-fault/
November 14, 2011 7:49 pm I've been waiting a long time for this to come out. I've had volume one on my shelf just waiting for volume two to come out so I can spend a weekend (or maybe just an evening) reading them both. I've loved all of the Astro City I've read in the past and have high hopes for this one.
November 3, 2011 5:03 pm I'm not sure what TheRealVenom and party didn't like about this arc because I loved it. Took a street level character with a cosmic past (when she was Captain Universe) and sent her on a cosmic adventure with the FF. I loved what they did with the FF and I liked how X-23 was out on her own. Noto's art was awesome as he seems to just keep getting better. I thought this did a great job of telling a complete story that built on the stories that came before without being dependent on them. Good job Marjorie Liu and Phil Noto. I can't wait to see where this goes next.
November 2, 2011 1:11 pm I was so sad that the NBA didn't start last night. Maybe they'll have games by the new year. Oh well, at least I get to pick up comics today.
October 31, 2011 4:09 pm I feel like this series has just been getting better. I've especially liked the most recent arc, but the art has been terrific throughout. If someone is on the fence about this series give it a try because you'll find that it's a surprisingly fun read for a character that sounds so terrible. (Sorry, but just try explaining who the character is to someone and you'll get what I mean)
October 18, 2011 1:14 pm Yeah, we all know where this is going, but you know that Ennis is still gonna try and throw us a curveball somehow. I'm dreading seeing what is going to happen but I'm extremely excited for this mini. The art has been gorgeous thanks to Darick Robertson. I'm really hoping that after this series is done he goes on to help finish out the rest of the run of The Boys.
October 13, 2011 8:08 pm That just doesn't make sense to me. How could they not intend the first part of a twelve part series to be a new reader jumping-on point. Why would someone make a comic that is impenetrable unless you've read the eighty issues of a completely different series. If that was there intention then it explains why comics constantly have a downward sales trend because they make it so the sales can't go up.
October 6, 2011 7:47 pm No, it didn't need to. But it helps give a sense of what the series is about. Nobody picking up a book called "Mystic" should be surprised with what they find here.
September 27, 2011 11:30 am This is easily my most anticipated book of the relaunch. It's the only one I pre-ordered, everything else I've picked up at the shop if it looked good. I am hoping to get some great mystical adventures out of this team. I loved the Matt Wagner run of Madame Xanadu and hope that that character gets a good spotlight in this series. I really enjoyed Demon Knights as well so I have real high hopes for this series.
