Jim Henson’s Tale of Sand
March 9, 2013 11:05 am I finally got around to buying this and let me say what a disappointment.
There's a reason this screenplay was never made into an actual movie and that's because the whole thing is just a rambling nonsense of a story, the art is by far the highlight but the scripting just lets the whole thing down and it all seems like a pointless waste of time in the end, save your money and invest in something like Brian K Vaughan's Saga instead if you want some real quality from your comics

Lost & Found: Marvel’s RUNAWAYS
April 26, 2012 2:31 pm It's true that when BKV left the title it seemed to be slightly lost which was a shame because it was shaping up to be a really different kind of book in tone to all the other young teams of heros around, Marvel always just tries to write things like this as a young X-men clone which has been done to death, this really touched on social problems and teen alienation at times, not everything has to be massive cosmic battles, people like characters they can relate to a little bit as well.

Top 5: Alan Moore Stories That Are Not Watchmen
December 13, 2011 4:39 pm You're so right about this comic, his Miracleman was the best thing he's written, it's just a shame it's so impossible for people to get their hands on and read due to copyright laws. Issue 15 when Johnny Bates decimates half of London and Miracleman and Kid Miracleman fight to the death with John Tottleben's beautifully savage art is far more dramatic and horrific than anything in Swamp Thing, and that's saying something, I'd put V for Vendetta as my second favourite though.

iFanboy #231 – Women in Comics
September 23, 2011 9:57 am Liked the show, Amanda Connor is one of the great artists out there today, but was there something up with the sound on this show, it came over as flat and mono, anyone else notice this?

New Shade! Variant Cover to Shade #1 by Cully Hamner
September 14, 2011 3:25 pm Wow, I'm licking my lips for this one, Starman was one of the best comic runs ever, and the Shade stole the show for me throughout the series, it's just a pity that James Robinson and Tony Harris have never really made up, as Harris' art was just as important to the character development!

Ten Things You Should Know About Gene Colan
June 27, 2011 1:45 pm What a shame, nobody did atmospheric black horror artwork like Gene Colan, I'll have a drink in his honour this weekend!

iFanboy #215 – X-Men: First Class
June 6, 2011 2:44 pm Ha ha, does Josh even care about the X-men? He just sat there impassive and blank for 20 minutes and let Ron do what he always does on this subject, give out the full history of every character from cradle to grave in one long impassioned breath, so funny!

iFanboy #214 – Swamp Thing
May 30, 2011 1:47 pm Good show, thought you might have mentioned Swampy's decent into hell which was really groundbreaking and disturbing for comics at the time, his constant battles with Anton Arcane as he became more and more demonic were classic Moore too.

April 25, 2011 6:24 pm Hugo Waving as V in V for Vendetta was pretty awesome too, especially as he took over from the originallly cast James Purefoy.
