I’d been looking forward to this, as I love Ultimates 1 and 2, but checked out during 3. This comic…

I was a huge fan of the comic westerns back in the 70s; Rawhide Kid, Two-Gun Kid, Kid Colt, et…

I loved Asterios Polyp as well, as did my wife. Another fantastic offering in the real world category is PERSEPOLIS. The movie version is great too.

August 13, 2009 5:30 pm Great series of articles. I read comics for years without really paying much attention to the people actually creating them, then stopped reading altogether. Back to reading them again, mainly because of the creators. These articles on the art behind them, and the people doing the art, have come at a perfect time. Thanks! Time to ask for a hefty raise and some stock options. . . .

@fingaz: I consider this movie this decades Starship Troopers.  I knew Starship Troopers was cheezey, the acting subpar, the story, ok, but as a whole the movie was great.  That is how I feel about GI Joe.  It's just fun.  I really felt like a kid again watching it.  Would I watch it again in the theater? No.  Am I glad I saw it in the theaters? Yes.  Will I watch it again on DVD/Blu-Ray? You bet!

I pretty much totally agree with that assessment. It wasn't nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. I'm no GI JOE fan from way back, so none of the characters were really familiar or anything, it was just (mostly) a fun movie.

August 6, 2009 10:43 am I'm guessing my store was a victim of the West Coast Diamond problem as well, as they were (finally!) supposed to have this, and it didn't arrive -- same as several other issues I was after. Hopefully next week!
August 4, 2009 12:13 pm I'm on board with both feet as well. When Steve was initially killed, the combination of that and all the freakin' crossover stuff going on in comics at the time made me just quit buying and reading altogether. When I started hearing how good Cap was in the aftermath, I picked up the Omnibus and the trades and got back up to speed, now I've very eager to see how things turn out.
August 4, 2009 12:03 pm Some of the stories are certainly better than others, but I'm still looking forward to it every week. I'm loving that 3 of the stories have ape-related villains in them. Those damn dirty apes!
July 30, 2009 3:06 pm Nice manpris in the check-in photo. No wonder he's an intern.
July 30, 2009 12:46 pm I almost bought this but rented it instead . . . haven't watched it, though. I was leaning toward buying because of the special features which are on disc 2 of the limited edition version, which weren't discussed at all in the podcast. Anyone have any comments on that aspect of the DVD?
