February 7, 2013 7:45 pm I'm with you on that. I only read one New 52 book now, that being BATMAN. All my other DC books come from the digital line, but I wait for the print versions.
December 20, 2012 1:36 pm Damn, this is good!
October 22, 2012 8:59 pm I recently discovered that I like the character Thor, thanks to the movies and the Walt Simonson Omnibus. So I'm gonna check this out. Double shipping will piss me off, but I'm gonna give it a try to begin with.
October 8, 2012 12:19 pm I would like a "Batman II". I personally want to see Warner Bros make a gamble and do a film with someone other than Bruce Wayne Bats. Chances are very slim but maybe the dark knight trilogy has opened the door for pop culture America to see someone else be Batman. Just think if they did a Dick Grayson Bats in the Justice League movie and it worked, how many doors it could open for the franchise: Animated Originals adapting Snyder's Detective run or Morrison's 'Batman & Robin', Gothem Central TV show, even a Batman Beyond film. WB could finally start mining all the great non-Bruce Wayne Batman properties for bigger projects.
October 8, 2012 10:49 am Gina Carano as Wonder Woman. 'Nuff said! But these are all pretty good picks. I do see them going with John Stewart GL over Hal. The GL movie obviously was a bust, and animated Stewart is probably the most popular Lantern outside of the typical comics crowd. I like your thinking on the Batman aspect, but I doubt Warner Bros will see it that way. Batman is what pays the bills. He'll probably be front and center if a film is ever made.
September 13, 2012 1:00 pm I always knew Dick was a hipster.
September 4, 2012 6:40 pm Jim Carrey is the lead in my favorite movie EVER... 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.' So I'm still in the give-him-a-chance crowd. And Leguizamo is a fine actor: Romeo + Juliet, Summer of Sam, Carlito's Way. Granted, it's been a while since those but I'm still a fan. Growing up in the typical Puerto Rican family, his comedy and one-man shows are right up my ally. I can understand why it wouldn't be everyone's bag though. I'm more put off by the out of nowhere choice of writer/director. I'm guessing they need to pitch pennies somewhere.
August 23, 2012 12:23 am I recently reread Rucka's two Renee Montoya/The Question trades. It renewed my love of Montoya. Such a great character. It still baffles me as to why DC, trying to diversify the line with the New 52, would hang up their female-hispanic-lesbian character. Clearly a ball was dropped.
July 24, 2012 2:05 pm I remember the week of the Columbine shooting that WB pulled an episode of Buffy from airing because it depicted a school shooting. The episode eventually aired months later during the summer. It is appropriate and a respectful move if nothing else. Anyone who thinks of secret motives, or is pissed about missing their comic seriously needs to reevaluate their priorities in life.
July 23, 2012 10:19 am I think you NEED to have the reverse angle to tell the ending that Nolan wanted to tell. He’s not just wrapping up Bruce and Alfred’s story, but also Selina’s. One of the major plot points of her character arc is that she wants to become a better person. Which is why she needs the “clean slate” and you get her “sorry I keep disappointing you” line to Bruce. Without that final shot how are we to know that she eventually ends up with Bruce and trying to become a better person. For this reason the reverse angle is a necessity for the ending Nolan wanted the three characters (Bruce, Selina, and Alfred) to have.
