October 10, 2012 6:37 pm I still argue that they should have an HONEST to god ad in front of movies and during TV shows about the comics that the show is from. I still haven't seen that, and I think it would translate. Plus the month Avengers came out comic sales rose without direct ties. Plus it goes to a simple mentality, people are sheep heard them so that your company makes MORE profit off them in an easy cost effective way.

October 9, 2012 1:06 pm This is much in the line of what I was going to say. Marvel and DC are becoming more branded, but while they do so other companies are kind of filling the gap. They are leading themselves to much more universe related titles and planning where the editors are king. Image is focusing on making awesome stand alone comics and has pretty much left their shared universe behind. Valiant is rising to create something new with an old school feel. I really think Marvel is making a bold move, just one I care less about then more of the books from just last month.

September 24, 2012 6:35 pm As someone who comments on this site rarely, but is part majorly of another community with comics, I can say that another circle will be experiencing this as well. However a lot of unproven books A+X, Bendis' X-men, and Captain America would of had me jump on if they were not 3.99 books. Marvel will be getting less of my money in the next few months, and that will be true of many. I'm sure number will rise for awhile though. You have the contingent that collects all number 1 issues. You have some people excited to try something new, or were waiting for Marvel to make this move for a year. Time will tell if it balances out.

March 28, 2012 3:37 pm For whatever reason I thought Francis Manapul would of been more flighty, but he has some amazing ideas on comic craft and storytelling. Plus he sounds like a scholar and a prince. Loved both the interviews, made me love some current comics a little more.
