June 30, 2011 11:34 am @Jurassicalien  I second this. It is because of Peter David's run on Aquaman that I am a fan of the character. I have everything from 1986 onwards, right up until the most recent volume. David's work is by far the strongest. He incorporates Classical mythology so well, and the story is as much about Orin's internal struggles as king as it is about fighting Ocean Master and Black Manta. Aquaman by Peter David is so much more than a guy who talks to fish... which sadly, the series reverted to when Erik Larsen took over.

And yes, Atlantis Chronicles is amazing. It is not a must read in the sense that nothing else will make sense without it... it is just a must read in that it is damn good.
November 22, 2010 1:52 pm Hrrrrrrrrm. I didn't want to pick up yet another Batbook. But they make them look so goooood!
November 20, 2010 4:03 pm Personally, I think the Batman Inc. cover is hideous. But you know what? It did its job. That cover jumped off the shelf, caught my eye, and said pick up this book! Any other background, and it would have been just another book with Batman on it. The clash of colours really grabbed my attention and pulled my focus away from the books around it at the shop. Without that cover, I probably would not have bought the book.
November 19, 2010 5:38 pm I was a big fan of the NOW Comics series (which in hindsight, isn't all that great - some fantastic cover art though), and the first trailer was a big disappointment for me. I enjoyed this one though. I think GH will make a good bit of brain candy.
November 10, 2010 12:15 pm Exactly the kind of writing tool / kick in the pants I need.
November 1, 2010 3:04 pm I'm just waiting for confirmation that the series is actually coming back after the Widow Maker mini.

I used to give all my girlfriends PREACHER and STRANGERS IN PARADISE. The one who eventually became my wife discovered DEMON (Etrigan) all on her own.

She and I would second Y, FABLES, SCOTT PILGRIM, RUNAWAYS, and would add the first 25 issues of the first Cassandra Cain BATGIRL series.
