May 13, 2011 10:17 am Loving Noto's Bantam/Dell sci-fi tribute.
Kelly Freas painted(?) - maybe better say illustrated - a lot of those old covers that I always thought would make great comics.
May 12, 2011 6:01 pm The crew of the IFanboy video - yesterday - brought up a good point about Batman and/or Spiderman (i'm def. Team Bruce over Peter). If you wanna read these books, you're probably OK with only a month or two of backstory.
Sure these character's get thrown in the shit storm vortex from time to time, but at the end of the day - they're essentially the same. I submit that as long as you know who the basic players are, and you're not trying to discern a plot line from the middle - you can probably jump in anywhere...accepting/excepting Grayson wears a cowl now as well.
May 12, 2011 4:30 pm @PaulMontgomery  - Thanks. I vaguely remember that show. It's amazing the reach Jim Henson had - and believe me, he wasn't exactly nourished in regards to his dream. McCarthy era GS parents do not an esoteric home make.
May 12, 2011 4:17 pm Why is Jim Henson's name attached to this?
Please realize i'm not asking from a contrarian POV - i'm just curious what this is taking from Henson's work?
Our Dad's (mine and Jim Henson's) were co-workers at the USDA back in the 50's - and an interesting side note: Mr. Henson used to complain constantly about his 'nancy-boy' son and his obsession with 'doll-babies'. I don't think he lived long enough to see that bear fruit.
May 12, 2011 1:51 pm @josh  - I'm not thick enough to assume they're keeping the lights on in Cinderella's Castle through comic sales. But I guarantee you tying a product in with something already culturally established is planned for and designed to boost that 30K copies to the 40K you're predicting.
I have no problems with marketing ploys - I was commenting on the choice of material - why not use the obvious 'Sons of Anarchy'?
May 12, 2011 1:39 pm @PaulMontgomery - 10-4! I'm just saying - put a vague qualifier like that in front of anything involving motorcycles.

Screwed up version of...
Wild Hogs
Vanishing Point
ChiPs
Happy Days

If that was your doing I apologize - it seems to me like Disney trying to cash in on the motorcycle outlaw craze of the day - even though Easy Rider was a total counterculture story!
May 12, 2011 1:30 pm "Easy Rider" must be the only 'motorsickle' story Williams ever heard of. I read nothing in that description even vaguely similar to Easy Rider.
Unless Captain America is gonna be in this book?
May 12, 2011 1:16 pm The Luthor downsizing, and the Truth episode both have moments that pained me!
Lionel blames Lex for the firings, and "the Daily Planet" issue says poor management was SITED (er - try CITED) as the reason. In the Truth episode, the drug is Levitas....not Veritas as it should be - study your mufuggin' Latin! And yes in this continuity, Metropolis is an oceanside city in Kansas - look at the liscence plates. All things i've had to overlook in my extreme enjoyment of this show.
May 11, 2011 5:10 pm So...are Dinosaurs gonna supplant Zombies in comics this year?

The Emperor is Nekkid - goddamnit!
May 11, 2011 4:43 pm @Superyan - decided to keep a little mystery in my life and not watch these premieres.

I was in a Wal-Mart today, and they have the seasons marked at 15.00 each - of course 5 and 6 were gone, but I picked up 7 and 8, so if I can mail order the others, i'll have a very busy 'rest of May' on my ass in front the DVD machine.
