March 13, 2013 9:35 am Scott Snyder has writing skills to spare. This was really well written, both Kubert and Maleev were great and I enjoyed the backup co-written by JT4 a lot! But I think the place where this is going is just not for me. I am aware that comic book stories are as cyclical as they can be, but perhaps the fact that this is taking me directly back to the death of Jason/start of Tim Drake's career, one of the first superhero comics I read, makes me feel too strongly like this is rethreading the same old steps. Perhaps I'll be surprised and the story won't go on that direction, but it really feels like we are seeing the rise of a new Robin. So yeah... really well done, but I don't know how interesting it is for me.
March 11, 2013 10:52 pm +4, I guess... I reaaaaaally hope she doesn't become the next Robin, though.
March 11, 2013 11:33 am This sounds great, and it is a relief to know that we won't be stuck with emotionally-crippled-for-losing-a-son Bruce Wayne in the best bat-book around.

February 13, 2013 10:05 pm Fantastic episode, certainly one of the best so far. Really curious way of using Slade and Wintergreen, but I liked it a lot.
February 13, 2013 6:16 pm I don't know what people are saying... but for my money, Scott is an incredibly talented writer who has written some of the best Batman stories ever, with Black Mirror, Court of Owls and Death of the Family. That said, even with a lot of great stuff in it, this issue was my least favourite in the arc.
February 13, 2013 3:48 pm @smo - Yeah, but the whole "getting Alfred because of Batman Inc" is just not a strong enough reasoning for me... And he went after Barbara's Mom, Dick's circus, did a whole thingie with Tim's and Todd's "fathers" and so on. I just do not see how we can say at this point that he wouldn't know them... @I-Doll - I thought the same about it, the only way to justify it is DC editorial control... For me it just felt like the story could not arrive where it was naturally going. Tsc.
February 13, 2013 10:38 am This is masterfully crafted. The character beats were as good as they get and the art was so exciting it woke me up instantly in the morning. But I just couldn't really get behind two aspects of the story. SPOILERS: . I don't see any reason for the Joker not to do what was inside the dome for real. . I see no reason for Batman to be so sure Joker did not know their identities for real, as this story and its tie-ins have made it pretty unavoidably obvious that he must know. Did I miss anything that disproves the whole identity thing?
February 11, 2013 5:23 pm I believe Alfred is safe, as I really don't think you can write a relatable Batman without Alfred. You can do it without pretty much anyone else, though, so I am very concerned.
