Name: Andrew Read

Bio: I was born in 1982.  I read comics off an on for awhile, but didn't get serious about collecting until Superman died.  I thought I was going to get rich investing my weekly allowance in the newest issues of Superman.  I have complete run from 'Reign of the Supermen' til way too long..... It's been a long time since Supes died and I'm not rich yet, oh well.  Right now I live in Boston, and really enjoy going to my LCS every week (really I think I read in issues largely as an excuse to head down there every wednesday...).  I spend way too much money on comics and way too much time online reading about them.X-Box Live= Dont Stick Me

December 26, 2011 9:53 pm +1 to bringing back the forums. Happy Holidays iFanboy, you helped get me back into comics with IronFist #9, and I've been coming back ever since. Thank you.

July 20, 2011 5:56 pm Not a comic technically, but I would definitely wait in line at the Mondo booth for a Tyler Stout Captain America Print

June 6, 2011 5:58 pm Most fun I've had in theaters since Scott Pilgrim.

I've always respected the staff/writers of iFanboy for being able to rise above the petty internet baiting that can sometimes plague the web.  Keep up the great work gang!

Too many Magnetos and not enough Chucks on the boards this afternoon....
June 2, 2011 9:42 am Nice article Ryan!  Gene duplications etc must happen with some frequency in H. sapiens history right?  So if the 'x-gene' were to confer higher fitness, spread through mating, and become fixed in the population wouldn't that just become the norm and not necessarily create a new 'species'?

Lets just blame epigenetic modifications!
May 27, 2011 9:26 pm Lovin these Noto sketches....  I was just going to ask if anyone knows if his Image book from a few years ago, Infinite Horizon, was collected... but I Amazon'd it myself and it is!!  Releases in July!

May 12, 2011 9:07 pm @wacokid  in regards to non-mutants having mutant kids....  what if the x-gene is x-linked? (hehehe)  but seriously, in this case women could be carriers of a recessive 'mutant' gene without displaying the phenotype (Xx thus H. sapiens sapiens) and could have kids that are mutants if they get down with a male mutant(Yx)....  In this case all daughters would be either carriers (Xx) or mutants (xx), and all sons would be mutants (Yx).

@jackarandos  I could be wrong, but I believe that there are many genes on the X chromosome that do not have complementary alleles on their chromosome partner (Y)  I'm also pretty sure that you can get gene duplications or other events that lead to an unpaired alleles on other chromosomes.....
March 27, 2011 10:07 pm I didn't 'get' it...

I'm looking forward to trying to identify all of the Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz references --- if there really are any....
I did like the soundtrack.
January 9, 2011 12:54 pm @ed209AF  A Cable series could be cool, TV audiences love the whole 'a man out of time' story.  But think about the props department.... they'd have to sew SO MANY pouches.  hehehe....

But seriously, it will be interesting to see how both major publishers being owned by huge multimedia corporations affects which properties get picked up and where.  How will this affect smaller publishers pitching their properties?  And, finally, will I ever learn the difference between 'effect' and 'affect' and know when the use of either is appropriate?
