After nearly 2 years of Cable treading water, the Necrosha cross-over finishing in the same week, not long after a point-less Messiah War… I’m sure this next cross-over for the X line of books seems like a bit of overkill.

I enjoyed this issue and I’m very excited at where this cross-over will “finally” lead the X-Men. This excitement could also be due to the fact that I only regularly read Uncanny and X-Factor and avoided the recent cross-overs. Great set-up story for the return of Hope (at the old X-Mansion), setting up the story and delivering some great action.

Finch’s pencils for much of the panels were fantastic but uneven. By the end of the issue it seems like his Cyclops model’s face had noticeably changed. That being said, at least he wasn’t stuck wearing a turtleneck (as in the Utopia kick-off).

My favorite line? Hope: “It was supposed to be different this time… We beat Bishop, and nothing’s changed!”

Well, after this issue, I am optimistic that Hope is wrong.
