Chris Bachalo is one of the very few artists I’ll follow anywhere. I love it when he’s drawn Spider-Man recently, but I’ve been a fan since his Sandman Days. He’s an artist, and not just of the comic book variety. He puts as much attention into the surroundings as he does the characters – sometime more so. In this case, the attention to the backgrounds helped to reinforce the claustrophobic feel of the book.
I didn’t know Bachalo was on this book until I started reading it. I couldn’t be more happily surprised.
As for the story, it was pretty decent. Nothing seemed out of character (though for a book co-staring Gambit, there was suspiciously no mention of his recent character developments.) and the plot moved about briskly; in one-shots, I’m almost always thankful of that.
Also, I’m a sucker for bad-ass Northstar moments. This issue had one of the best in a long time.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
