The one thing that will consistently get me into a comic book store is a comic book with Jubilee in it. She is one of the reasons I started reading comics, and one of my favorite characters ever. I read all of New Warriors because she was in it, and that book was awful.

This was excellent. My feelings on the whole vampire plot basically boiled down to “I really hope they make a joke about Jubilee sparkling at some point” but this is an excellent continuation of it, which made me really care about the storyline. The Wolverine & Jubilee interaction was perfect, and major love for Immonen for remembering that Jubilee and Emma have a history and including that scene. However, my favorite scene might have been her interaction with Pixie.

I do have some nitpicks (I didn’t particularly like the interaction with Scott or Hisako, and there is no way that Jubilee is still 17) but overall this was fabulous, and I am eagerly awaiting the next issue. Or better yet, an ongoing.

(Really, the only reason the art got knocked down to 4 is that I don’t like the way he drew Jubilee’s hair.)

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I loved this issue too. I really enjoyed Noto’s art as it’s a little different than what he has done before.
