Pellet Reviews

Batman: I like it that Azzarello is doing more of a Bruce story then Batman. But the art by Risso is a mixed bag; Bruce looks like Harvey Dent from the animated series. Still it’s a nice mystery going.

Kamandi: Absolute perfect. Gibbons and Sook knows exactly what to do with this format. Just seeing Gorillas with machine guns is a boon. Also a very gorgeous looking comic as well.

Superman: People have been harsh on this particular entry, but I’m enjoying it. Superman might be a bit too sad at points; anything with him and his parents though is always enjoyable to read. Also the art in this is very good as well.

Deadman: Another title doing this format as it should be. I never cared about the character beforehand, but I’m loving this Deadman story.

Metamorpho: This is all kinds of crazy. Hard to describe but enjoyable to read.

Green Lantern: Man this hit a dip in quality didn’t it? What’s up with the noses!? Ugh.

Hawkman: Alien invasion? This is a left turn if I ever saw one. Love how they have the other heroes in the shadows, so they don’t over take Hawkman as the lead.

Teen  Titans: This was one of two stories that have gotten the worse reviews since this has come out. This particular part of the story was really good though, and the art has improved greatly.

Strange Adventures: Paul Pope’s art is getting a bit too hard to look at. It’s beautiful in some ways but in others it’s a mess. Story is good at least.

Supergirl: This is like a kiddie portion of a Sunday comic. Enjoyable to read even if it’s a bit too cute for my taste.

Metal Men: Still the suprise strip in this entire comic. It’s a bit too much exposition at times, but Didio is still doing a great job.

Wonder Woman: Can’t read it.

Sgt. Rock: Art is absolutely stunning to look at. The story…..is moving at a snails pace. Or if a snail had to go threw cement.

Flash: Can we have Kerschl on the Flash ongoing now?

Demon & the Cat: Etrigan is a character I like to read, but never seem to find a good story on him. This is a pretty good tale but I feel it’s a bit too slow paced. Art is good to look at.

Stay tune for my review of issue #5…..coming up right now!
