So the big problem I have with anthology series is the story
doesn’t fit the format, in that it is written like a regular issue and
has artificial stopping points and, thusly , isn’t at all satisfactory
in issue format.

OR, it is the comic equivalent of fun size snickers,
good, but not really filling.

DC actually has a great format going with
Bizarro Comics Hardcovers, so I had some hope going into this series.

This book was exactly like every other anthology, except it was
massive. There were some stories that flourished in the constraints,
Metamorpho or Adam Strange are excellent.

Other were either ugly, Teen
Titans, or just trying too hard to get stuff in, Wonder Woman.

Most of
them were just decent or good. I liked The Rock and Easy Co story a lot
even though it was pretty sparse.

There’s a lot of talent in this book,
and, eventually, a enough room to tell a decent story. How much of a
pay off we’ll get and how much of it will be a huge comic that will be
a pain to keep in good shape through the years is yet to be seen.

It
was an overall good start for most of them, so I’ll stick around, but
this is going to be a pretty intense sprint to the finish.
