Well it is about time. The tearing down of the prison's gates was not only a striking visual metaphore for the destruction of the characters relative "safety" but for this reader it was a much needed shot in the arm for a book that I found myself reading out of a fondness for what once entertained me over what currently just bored me. But perhaps that's a testiment to Kirkman's storytelling- not only were the characters complacent but so were the readers. In all honesty it felt like I was reading Melrose Place with Zombies for the longest time. Since the introduction of The Governor it seemed like we have just been cirlcing our wagons. With this issue the sense of dread and realistic horror that made it one of my favorite books and most recommended reads to new comic fans is back and for the first time in what feels like forever, I am so excited for next month's issue!
