I can’t honestly say I enjoyed this book, but I can say it was very good.  Remeber the end of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre ?  A girl covered in blood escapes with her life, but we in the audience know that she will never be “OK” agian. Nothing can fix or change what has happened to her.  The end of this issue left me with that same feeling, and not just for the remaining characters, maybe a little for myself.  After the infamous torture issue I wondered, why do I like this?  The art is amazing, and Kirkman is at his best in this book. I want it understood that I like this book, and like scary everything. (Books, movies,& comics) Perhaps the cruel trick of survival horror is that it doesn’t end. I’m ready for credits to roll and lights to come up but Kirkman has loaded another reel. The chicken exit is teasing me, but I have to know, WHAT NOW ? What fresh hell is left to see? I have no idea but I’ll be back for the next issue.

So yes, I didn’t enjoy what I saw. I think to smile and laugh while reading this book proves only that you are a cruel bastard.  And I’m not.

And yes, this comic book is a master class in everything good about comics.

But I’m sleeping with the lights on tonight.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
