This was awful.

It’s like Marvel picked Andy Diggle up off the street and asked him to write a Deadpool/Thunderbolts issue, without letting him know anything more than the two-dimensional aspects of the characters:  “Ok, Deadpool is funny, and uses pop culture.  Norman Osborn is bad.  No one gives a shit about any of the other characters in the story, so just….run with it.”

Awful, awful, awful. 

Dazo’s art doesn’t really fit with the story, either.  It oscillated from something akin to The Real Ghostbusters, to the hyper-luminous art from the Uncanny X-Men issue a few months back.  So, it’s not only poor art, but it’s inconsistently poor from page to page.

What a waste of a good cross-over opportunity.

    @TNC: I wish I had better news.  I was really hoping this would be a fun event, but it’s just sooooooo bad.  Oh, well, at least there’s a Way Deadpool, and a few more issues of Suicide Kings to satiate the pain.

    I have to agree completely. This was a major letdown. Diggle has no handle on Deadpool whatsoever (nor Taskmaster for that matter). I didn’t find the art as bad, but it was unexceptional. Let’s keep Deadpool in Way’s hands.

    Either I am going to piss all 3 of you guys by loving this or we’re gonna be like going out for a round of beers joking about this issue.

    I agree with Coltrane.  I don’t get down to NJ much, but for a round of beers, and a Deadpool discussion?  Totally there.  Though, TNC, I don’t know about your wardrobe change.  Who are you without a Deadpool icon?

    @akamuu: Well my last icon was for Team Fortress 2; and I still have a Deadpool avatar on the forums….

    I just couldnt find a good, and really small avatar for the main site. Besides; blue lanterns rule!
