While the Coipel art is incentive enough to grab this one every week, Straczynski is taking his sweet-ass time working on building the story here. We’re at issue 10 now, and all Thor has done is rebuild Asgard and give new flesh to the bones of its kings — amnd that was the first two issues. The past eight issues have been rhapsodic and decompressed, which is a nice change of pace, but like “Secret Invasion,” I’m going to run out of patience soon. At least a newly feminized Loki lurks in the shadows, alluding to dark intentions as he/she should.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Funny, that is exactly what my buddy said about the book. But… the art the art!!!!! I am enjoying the nothing ness that is the New Thor.

  2. Im with you my thoughts exactly… But come on now its THOR and atleast there not using him as much because he is just powerful and a complete Badass so ill hang in there. Still issue three were he completly punked Iron Man whos no slouch that was one of the coolest confrontations ive read in many years.

  3. Yes, there’s…nothing….going…..ON!

Thor: Ages of Thunder is a much better read right now, even without being in Marvel continuity.

  4. Straczynski strikes again.

    "Wait, nothing’s happening…."

  5. Ugh. Love the art,, but this is really slow. I haven’t really enjoyed an issue since Thor beat the crap out of Iron Man.

Typical JMS, great individual stories, but he doesn’t move the story along issue to issue. That was the problem with Spider-Man and Squadron Supreme.

  6. Just hold on… any minute now… coming right… up… soon….
