Heading into this issue, I was a little worried that The Sword was going to settle into a routine of “Dara fights villainous sibling, Dara kills villainous sibling, Dara chases after next villainous sibling,” but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Of course I should have known better because the Luna Brothers would never let this series rest on it’s laurels, throwing new challenges into the mix to keep things interesting. Back when this series started, I debated whether or not pick up the issues or wait for the trades like I did with Girls. I’m glad I went the issue route with The Sword, because it reads great in issues and has a quick and dependable release schedule. Those Luna Brothers: they sure know what they’re doing.

  1. I agree this book reads great in issues. And I also like how the Luna took the story to new directions.
