I got a sense of how I felt about this issue of Sweet Tooth when I realized that I was more affected by the Cinderella preview pages then anything else I had read in the issue.  So far I’ve been enjoying Sweet Tooth a lot, I love the world Jeff Lemire is unfolding and I love the art, but everything in this issue felt really cursory and abrupt.

It feels like a lot of things happened in this issue, but I came away feeling like nothing was explored – like there were two issues of potentially great comic crammed into one decent issue.  Mostly what this issue made me think of was a really watered down version of Walking Dead where none of the reveals hit with any kind of force and there weren’t any kind of real rich character moments. That still makes it better than a lot of other things I’m reading, but just not great.  Which is a shame, because it feels like could be something really special but, at least this week, fell just short.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

Really? To me, it felt like nothing happened & you could have skipped this issue & picked up the next without missing any story.
