After the big build up this fell flat for me. The action scenes (what there were of them) were abstract and boring – how many city block-sized lighting bolts can Thor throw at this thing? *Yaaaawn* I wanted more visceral ass-kicking. I wanted gut-wrenching emotion. Thor going crazy for the Sentry/Void destroying Asgard and killing his brother. Thor looked a little upset, maybe a bit annoyed. That's about it. Not manically crazed like he should. He should have been a force of nature, not a pissed off guy in a cape.

I know next to nothing about the Sentry or the Void, and at the end of this I still didn't care to. They were an empty, very generic villain written to fill the role of the obligatory end-boss battle. Did them living or dying really matter to me? No. I couldn't have cared less. Even though the scene where Thor takes his dead body and sends it into the sun, I'm assuming, is some token gesture to make me feel sad for his death. It didn't.

Basically this felt very drab, boring and rushed. I think Coipel did a great job as usual with the material he was given, but he can only do so much.

Lastly, am I the only one who wonders where the hell was Thor in a series that's based on the "Siege" of Asgard??! He should have been a major player in every issue, at least in spirit - giving orders, kicking ass, inspiring the troops, etc. This felt like it could have been about an attack on NY or Kansas City, or wherever. I think the use of Asgard was just a convenient gimmick to wrap this whole mess up.

On a whole, what a let down. But hey, it only took one panel to reverse the entire super hero registration act for no apparent reason (are people suddenly no longer in danger of getting squashed during a random super hero fight?)! Wow, if only our government could react that quickly. Now that's writing kid.
