I am not sure about this one. I liked it better than previous issues for sure. But I just could not get over that their is a war on and we have seen almost none of it. Characters are still in the same place talking to the same people as in issue one. So much time was spent on the talking heads in the savage land, and then Reed busts out in like two panels and wipes up a weapon off panel and boom here is the answer, it seemed almost unimportant.
For me my biggest problem is there are no stakes to it. In Final Crisis there is this feeling of dread and doom. The heros backs are really against the wall. Here I don’t feel that because the enemy is largely unseen. There is an invasion going on in Britain and apparently that is the only place people are fighting for their lives. I wish they had spent more time on the struggle of humanity to survive than the confusion of a few characters in the Savage Land.
At least it looks like something is about to happen, and I hope it improves from here. I am going to finish it out, the art alone is worth the price at the door.

Not true – if you read Ms. Marvel, you would have seen tons of carnage in NYC. Same with SI: Front Line.
Well there are two problems there. One is I am reading the main book where I should be able to get the main story. I should not have to. and Marvel said I would not have to, buy other books to get the story. Two not having the war and the struggle takes away the drama. There is an invasion the world is in danger, but the Avengers are still in the Savage Land and Shield is still talking to Jarvis.
Eventually this will take off and I think there will be strong finish, but at this point I am a little let down.
@coltrane68 – That is exactly why I’m so disappointed with this series. I’m on somewhat of a budget and didn’t want to have to read every single (or even just a few) tie-in(s) to get a decent story out of this event. Marvel claimed that the main series would be enough for anyone who just wanted the basic story, but I have to disagree. I feel like I’ve just read a bunch of scenes strung together with no depth. Oh, I just realized that Truthseeker is making the exact same point…yeah, what he said.
