  1. Yeah, after the noise about Apple/Comixology died down, I had that same question. Is PRIV secretly homosexual (which would change that erectile disfunction scene from way back when – from soldier’s-shell-shock to something very different), or was this a sort of curse word he was throwing at whoever shot him, or was it just a stray thought, almost dream-like, when he was fading out of consciousness?

I didn’t love this issue as much as most, but I did think that was a really cool & subtle detail. That & the seal/walrus duo, of course.

    • JML (@twitter.com/JoshMLabelle) says:

I entertained the PRIV being gay thought too… didn’t BKV mention in a recent letters column that one of the characters we’ve already met might be gay? He said it in a sort of joking way, but it makes me wonder. The curse word idea is interesting, though. Hadn’t thought of that.

    • When you see a dude walking around with gay porn playing on his television face, it’s obvious he’s gay. Okay, I wasn’t really sure why he had that on but it makes sense. What shows do these guys normally have on their face/minds? Sports, cartoons, music videos?

It did seem gratuitous to me but I’m okay with it. It’s not something I’d want to watch in real life, but it made me laugh.

  2. Yeah, that’s how I read it. He also arcs up when Heist asks him about ‘people like you’ breeding. PRIV takes it a certain way, which I thought was telling…

I’m thinking there’s a Robot royal scandal in the works some time in the future. His wife got pregnant while he was having trouble doing the deed. I reckon that would fit right into the soap opera-iness of Saga and the whole family politics theme.
