Okay, Tim Drake, or better yet, Tim Wayne's journey brings him out to Spain.  After a couple of pages about how Red Robin is going to totally thrash out against the criminal element every where his little tour takes him, they finally get into why he is actually on this journey.  The first place he goes looking is in Spain.

Well wasn't Bruce Wayne just in Spain a couple of weeks ago?!  I had to search my white box of comics that are still somewhat new enough that I haven't filed them into a long box in alphabetical order yet, and BANG there it was.  The real Batman, none other then Bruce Wayne, was in a comic book called Batman in Barcelona, and he got there on a Wayne owned airplane.  He stuck around, grabbed up Killer Croc who was probably out there to get out from under control of Black Mask, and then just vanished again.  The part in the beginning where he has a conversation with Scarecrow could have happened before R.I.P. when Joker and Doctor Hurt took over control of Arkham Asylum.  I don't remember there being any time capsules on the panels.  Just something to think about.  I know that I'm not the only one who noticed that.  Come on now...

Anyway, Red Robin #1 was a hell of a lot more interesting then most of the issues of Robin's third series I ever read so I hope Tim Drake sticks with the Red Robin costume permanently.  It is about time he grew up.  I personally think Damian is going to be a more interesting Robin so let's keep it that way.

I have high hopes for Red Robin and the rest of the new Batman lineup.  Shit, I even read Confidential so you know I'm a Batman guy.  I hope all these series last a couple of years.  I most especially excited about the two books Paul Dini is writing though.  His run of Detective was even better then Morrison's Batman run.  I can't wait to see what next week's pull lists will be like.
