Farewell Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Grey and Amanda Connor!
This issue is a fond farewell to this team and wraps up all the loose ends from the previous eleven issues. There are no major battles or super-showdowns. This is an issue about the people Karen Starr has connected with, both good and evil, over the coarse of the run. It was fun to see Terra’s subterranean world again and Groovicus’ return made me smile. Aside from the art, which as all of Amanda’s work was stunning, Palmiotti and Grey have delivered a light, fluffy comic that resonates. Even though issue #13 of this series will come out next month it certainly won’t be the same and I know I won’t pick it up. Because even if the series remains quality, and I think it will, it still won’t be the comic I signed up for. This series has been a wonderful achievement and every issue has made me smile. It’s a shame this run in ending so soon, but I can’t blame Palmiotti and Grey for bailing with Amanda. It took all three of them to make this comic work and I hope they all work together again sooner than later.

Unfortunately, this is not a leaping on point. But I think that it’s a comic worth picking up the trades for, or even the back issues. The next issue will be a good place to start since you won’t know what you’ve been missing.
