I’ve been itching for a good science fiction title, and Planetoid #1 provided the needed scratch.

I missed this last week, but decided to check it out after seeing a high rating and effusive review here on iFanboy. Of course, my LCS had sold out all copies, yet another Image #1 in a hot Image year.

Though I’m not a huge digital comics fan (maybe I’d feel differently if I had a 9.5 inch tablet screen to read on rather than an itty bitty phone screen), I bought a digital copy of this book.

And I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Gaming’s world – though not ground-breaking – is so developed and full of intrigue. Silas, a Colonel Tigh/Han Solo hybrid, has a great back story and exudes so much character, even in his terse exchanges with a computer.

And the artwork is so evocative you can practically taste the chemicals in the air and smell the rotting refuse of Silas’ new home.

If you missed this title last week, check out the digital version or pick up the second printing in a few weeks!
