Two more issues.

That’s what I’m giving this series before I decide to drop it. War of Kings is over and hopefully we can get this crappy tie-in story behind us. But man oh man, how the talent of Abnett and Lanning is dropping quickly. Maybe it’s because they have to deal with everyone in the cosmic side of things. Or maybe it’s because they did a huge event this summer. Whatever it is, I hope this title comes back into top form next issue.

The fights are the first thing I’m noticing with the quality. What could’ve been an epic fight turned into a chore of hearing witty one liners and over the top attitudes. If I wanted to read a 1994 comic then I would’ve went into my LCS in the 50cent bins. Then how everything about this wrapped up in a nice manner was ridiculous.

The aliens against you guys last issue? Knocked out without a struggle.

All of those people Worldmind/Ego recruited earlier this year? Gone without showing them and they are not important. Seriously thousands upon thousands of recruits are gone with just a one sentence mention.

Robbie on the verge of death? Okay this is a little bit unfair since AnL are the masters of double takes. Still, that ended pretty much without dramatic flare.

The last page reveal? You call that an exciting conclusion!?

I’m not even in the mood to talk about the good art by DiVito. If the next arc, whether it be two issues or now, doesn’t excite me then this is going to get dropped. I guess the Nova curse is coming back with a vengence with this.
