Before I begin my review I must say this is a fantastic cover. If Marvel could make a poster out of this I would be first in line to by it. Heck make the Marine Corps have this poster and I'll join them.
This issue is starting the idea that Worldmind is gonna be a villain. I for one am pissed off at a certain extent. Mainly because I have fucking loved Worldmind from the start and I would hate to see this character turn into a dictator-like person. It's obvious that something is amiss with the Corps when the leader is putting hallucenigens in your mind to not struggle. This comic also had a great start to it, where Worldmind is basically taking anyone (I wouldnt be surprised if he took a puppy just because it survived being homeless) and calling the chapter 'The Rapture' is great. Now I'm not saying this issue was bad, but this definitely feels like a calm before the storm. So if anyone else thinks this issue felt a little slow then thank god I'm not alone. Having said that, a slow issue of Nova is better then most issues of Marvel to begin with.
There's a new artist on board for this issue, Andrea Divito, and if you could tell me it was Alves I would've believed you. Sort of on the same vein of Hellboy, it's amazing the company can find artists that just envoke the original artist. The splash page with the title 'The Rapture' and seeing all of these people flying into the air; perfect.
Great issue, a little bit of a weak ending, but hey you can only do so much with twist endings. Once you do one with 'Ego the Living Planet', it's hard to top that.
