This is by far the best new 52 book that I’ve read.
Back in the day I used to read NIghtwing from the Dixon run through to the Grayson and throughout to the Tomasi run and I’ve always liked Mr.Grayson over his mentor.
This issue reminded me why I like Dick Grayson and its because he is down to earth, as much as someone raised in a circus and in a mansion could be.

Kyle Higgins did a great job acknowledging what came before in Batman and Robin whilst setting up his new status quo. We know what it is and we are moving with it.
I don’t know what Higgins has written in the past but I now need to know.

Eddy Barrows art just seems to be getting better it has a sense of movement and fluidity and I love how he is able to build a page differently each time, no grids for this man.
Honestly I can say that if someone is missing that monthly read like Red Robin or Batgirl then Nightwing I feel might be just up your alley(but in Gotham going up alleys may not be a good thing).

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Good review. Red Robin… you’re pushing it, it doesn’t fix my need of the book and I do still hope he’ll have his own book someday, but I see why you say that. It is indeed different than Batman, Nightwing’s view on Gotham is similar yet different at the same time.

And man was this book violent, when the guy “who wore sunglasses at night” beat up those two back-alley thugs to death I winced, it looked painful as hell.
