I miss Dick Grayson as Batman. Like I mentioned in the comments, I thought Grayson brought a much needed humanity back to Batman after Morrison’s epic Bat-God run, where Batman could even escape death. When Grayson was handed the cowl Batman took on his “nicest guy in the DCU” vibe – gone was the dark and brooding Batman – and in the right hands (ie: Snynder, Tomasi) Batman was a fun read.

Que DC Re-Boot.

Grayson is now back as Nightwing. New costume. Same nice guy, albeit a little more cocky, but that’s okay. Seems his time spent as Batman has given him a new insight to his old alter-ego Nightwing. Now more then ever he sees the differences between himself and Bruce Wayne as not being a bad thing, but a necessary thing: Gotham only needs one Batman now. It also only needs one Nightwing. Grayson doesn’t lament for one second his step-down from being Batman – he is taking that experience and using it to become a better Nightwing and perhaps a better man.

And if you read Batman this week you are aware of the mystery that involves Grayson. I’m interested to see where that will be going.

Any Batman fan will dig this one.
