I have to say that New Mutants was surprisingly a very enjoyable read.  I’m not what you call a x-man fanatic, but I do tend to dive into some stories from time to time. So I picked up this book without knowing  any history to the new mutants it was great. One of the things that intrigued me the most was the dynamic between Sam and Roberto. they seem to be some polar opposite but you can tell there is a friendship there. Also what hooked me was the surprise twist at the end. Even with my limit knowledge of all thing X I was shocked and cant wait to see the next issue. Plus it helps that the art team on this book draws these characters beautifull. So, the only complaint I have with this book is that Marvel failed to print saga pages at the end of the book. The only time I actually wouldnt mind paying an extra dollar for it Marvel does not print it.  So to sum up you realy do not need to be a continuity freak to actually enjoy this story.
