I picked this up on a whim after flipping though part of it at the store. The art pulled me in – it was fantastic. A great mix of comic/comedic style and realistic facial/mechanical work. I liked the coloring too. As for the story – when Niles is on, he’s on, and he is definitely hitting on all cylinders here. A great first issue that avoids the typical origin story (as character Nick Hammond explains, origin stories are so boring). This has plenty of action but also gives background and fleshes the characters out while still maintaining some mystery to be exposed as the story progresses. I’ll definitely be back for #2. My pick of the week!
