Did this issue just feel awkward to anyone else? I’m not entirely sure why, but I just felt slightly uncomfortable while reading the thing. Maybe it was just because this one issue implied that everything we’ve believed to be true since Crisis on Infinite Earths didn’t actually happen the way we thought it happened. So, Earth-2 survived that Crisis? The DCU has been on a “New Earth” since then? Power Girl isn’t really from Earth-2? Are all the Earths from before that original Crisis still around? I don’t know, I’m just really confused right now.
Plus the characters just seemed a lot less “real” than the ones Johns usually writes, especially in Justice Society. I don’t know if that was intentional or not, or if it was just because I didn’t like the art, but something about everyone, including Power Girl, just seemed off.
Can we just get back to resolving the creepy Gog problem first before moving on to creepy dopplegangers? I’d appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

To me it kind of read like a love letter to DC fans of the early 80’s. If you din’t read Inifinty Inc. or the All Star Squadron, I thnk it would be easy to be confussed and feel like you walked into the middle of a conversation. This is odd for Johns which probably lead to the awkward feel you discuss. Johns threw a lot of new (to many reader) characters or versions of characters without his normal trademark "tutorial". I felt the same way when I first picked up the original booksin the late 70’s early 80’s. I was a marvel reader and mainly familiarwith DC characters from their T.V. appearences (Batman, Super Friends, etc.). These were characters I mostly knew but they were older and behaved differntly. The good news is that john’s is at the helm and I am sure old and new fans alike will love where he’s taking us!
As for the art, I remember thinking Ordway’s art was kind of plain when I first saw it in All Star Squadron, but quickly grew to love his work. He is one of the greats and IMO does not get the recognition that he deserves.
Thanks for the review!
