I'm honestly not sure what to think of this issue. It has some of the same problems that I was complaining about last issue: Ice is still incongruously bitchy, the series is still pretty much one big chase scene, and Bennett can't draw Max any better than Dagnino can. Could we get Tony Harris to guest-pencil just Max's face? Mitch Hundred has a very similar facial structure, and it's apparently one that's crazy-hard to draw consistently.
And the idea that Max (somehow) got the team together doesn't make much sense when you think about it. Why would he purposefully leave people around to foil his plans? If he just wanted to get revenge on the JLI, there's gotta be a way for the dude who can mindwipe an entire planet to do so without giving himself away.
But holy moly, Batman is starting to get suspicious. About damn time. One page of Batman cameo shouldn't be enough to make me rate this issue higher than the last one, but, along with the aforementioned nonsensical deduction, it marks this issue as the first one in the series so far where heroic characters have acted like they have two braincells to rub together.
