Having some extra cash and interest in this new ‘Magog’ character, I thought it would be a nice romp to see how close this new version of a character I loved in ‘Kingdom Come’ was. Just like the last one-shot, which I just got and loved btw, this is merely an in-close look on the character instead of advancing the plot. Overall that’s a problem for me because I want this ‘Gog’ storyline to end in the worst way. It’s been so slow moving and dragging it’s almost becoming unbearable to read. But this one-shot does a nice job making an origin story to essentially a new character and show the blight of the JSA members on Gog side.

The little side story with Starman was pretty interesting, and it will be curious to see what his role is in future issues. Obviously the last lines he says definitely will make people interested to see who or what Starman needs to help with his situation. On the art on both fronts it’s nice and clean like most issues of JSA. Although I believe it was a different artist all together for the Gog story, if you would’ve told me it was Eaglestram and lied…I would’ve believed you.

So yeah, nothing really special here, just another one-shot in the books for all I’m concerned. Let’s just pray to Gog that this story arc will end soon. I dont know if I can handle yet another 50 issues of this story. Or at least it’s feeling like it’s 50 more issues to go.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Agreed. It’s a shame that the Starman story was better than the Magog story.
