Wow. I hope that all of the iFanbase that have been wanting more action and less meta-fiction in this crossover are satiated.
I have absolutely enjoyed every issue of the Great Fables Crossover. I'm a huge meta nerd so the writing aspects of this book are intriguing and on the other hand I have a great story about two warring factions. It's the best of both worlds of comics, it's cerebral and its viceral.
This issue showcases great humour, in the descriptions of characters and Babe the miniature blue ox, as well as amazing action when Bigby, still in his little girl form, completely wrecks house and destroys the genres.
The most satisfying thing of this issue for me was the use of Bigby's hilarious shape. The genres simply cannot take action agains a little girl and that was a brilliant story point. What could have gone down as a funny and albeit cheap gag is actually a reasonable and intellegent use of characterization and criticism of genre.
After this crossover concludes in The Literals #3 I'll be on board for all three titles based on the writing and creativity from this event. I finally see what everyone else, cough cough Around Comics cough cough, sees in Sturgingham.
