When was the last time you read one issue of a comic that made you want to wade into your boxes and reread the entire series from the beginning? That is exactly what this issue of Invincible did to me. In many ways the build up to the Viltrumite War reminds me of the build up to Blackest Night. We’ve know it’s going to happen. We’ve known that after it was finished things would never be the same. The difference here is that with Kirkman, anything truly can happen. In any other event, we know that whatever is done will someday be undone. With a Kirkman title, we know that once something happens, it sticks. Who will live? Who will die? In any other book, the answer for me is, who cares.

This isn’t the best issue of Invincible ever. This is the book that made me want more and want it right now. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait three months before the next chapter.

Bring the pain Kirkman!
