Three things i want to say about this issue:
1)Grant Morrison's "channel zapping" mode of comic storytelling has found its first disciple in Robert Kirkman, an unlikely pairing, but it owrks here. As in Morrison's Final Crisis we get a sense of the manic temporality of global chaos. As $^% gets ^%$%^ed up, the storytelling becomes increasingly frenetic and wild. I like this as a mode of graphic narrative even if some panels didn't make much sense.
2)The "crossover" here works because it isn't one. Much as I liked seeing PITT in a comic for the first time in like twelve million years, and much as the world altering, crazy &%#$ factor in this book was fun and engaging - unlike in, say, Ultimatum, had Kirkman actually spent the time explaining who everyone was and what their motivations were, this would have been unreadable. Instead we get a major shift in the direction of the series, beautifully drawn by Ottley to boot.
Eve better be ok.
