Ah man, I was hoping that Hal Jordan would spend some time on the planet Earth for while, You know, cleaning up his life after being away in space for so long. Getting his life back in order and his love life as well. I was hoping for some more interaction with the people in Hal’s life that DON”T wear a glowing colored ring. I wanted more of what we got in the first issue, but instead I got Hal’s apartment getting blown up (which seems to be happening to a lot of the DC heroes apartments) Hal getting a new ring and flying off to rescue people from falling off a bridge (how many times has that one been used since Superman: The Movie?) and then at the end getting ready to fly off to Korugar with Sinestro to battle the Yellow Ring Slingers – undoubtably for the next few issues.

Shit.

Oh well, I still liked the issue regardless of my own wants and I’ll take Doug Mahnke’s art any way I can get it. I’m just bummed a bit by that promising start with issue 1 and “what coulda been”.
