Geoff Johns is a genius. There is a sequence in Flashpoint where Batman and The Flash are actually discussing continuity. Batman starts acting like a fan boy and mentions that after they change the time line aka reboot, no one is really gonna care what happens here. To which, Barry responds, did they ever care? When Dan Didio and Geoff Johns sat down at the DC boardroom, I wonder who played Batman and who played The Flash.

None of it matters. All that matters is that I really enjoyed this issue. The reveal of Superman was superb, literally the best reveal of Flashpoint.

Kubert’s art is getting better and better by issue. Had it not been for the amazing Flashpoint Batman, I would have made this my pick of the week.

  1. Pretty astute pickup there, but just to be devil’s advocate, I for one do care about continuity and am disliking this whole reboot stuff.  It’s a great marketing concept I guess, releasing 52 #1s, but it smells of desperation and over-ambition to me.  Maybe I’m the only one who cares, but to me it was Johns who was the Flash and Didio a pretentious Batman, just assuming noone will care.
