And so exits Bruce Wayne.  Long live the Batman. 

This was a fantastic issue, which both made clear the stakes of the crisis (and gestured towards what the post FC DCU might look like) tied the various minisieries and one shots in to the larger narrative arc, and had one of the most powerful death/battle scenes in the history of superhero comics as the Dark Knight faces off against the Terrible Turpin and the result is Darkseidcide by radion bullet and Bats gets hit with the omega sanction, which means he is at least mostly dead.

I love the way Morrison built this story, i love how he challenges the reader while crafting rich, meaningful, and brilliant stories, and I applaud DC for being brave enough to do this.  This series has been a fitting tribute to Kirby's characters and to his imagination and i don't think anyone could have done it better than Morrison.
