Hi, my name is Eadge and I'm new to the iFanboy community. I'm usually not one to state my opinions on something via a blog, forum or review but I SO desperately needed a place to vent after reading Final Crisis #6. Final Crisis #6 is actually my main reason for registering on iFanboy. Before I begin let me state that this is my first ever review of anything and quite possibly my only review of any comic(unless something else comes along that drives me to vent once more). So where to begin... Now I would consider myself a mildly intelligent human being and an avid reader of all books not just comic books. With that being said, why is it that every time I'm reading something by the great Grant Morrison I feel as if I'm NEVER reading it from the beginning. From the start, I'm just thrown into a world that doesn't quite make sense to me or anyone but Grant Morrison. Sometimes I don't even think he knows what he's writing half the time. I know that that is his writing style and that there is usually going to be a payoff in the end but why should I have to wait for it to all make sense in the end? Why can't it make sense most of the way to the end? IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR!?!?!? I was so confused by what was going on in Final Crisis #6 that I literally stopped halfway and started over again with ISSUE ONE and I still don't know what the FUCK is going on!!! So much plot is given to us with so little information to work with. For example, where the hell has Superman been all this time? I know that he was whisked away on a special mission that I didn't care to read or pay for! Everything just seems so underdeveloped especially the Batman/Darkseid scene! So Batman was captured in issue 2 (I believe) and we don't see him again until issue 6 when he shoots Darkseid with the special bullet. I would think that Batman's escape from the clutches of that weird machine and his penetration into Darkseid's throne room seems like an important plot point ESPECIALLY when it is the climax for issue 6!!! I know he's Batman but there are BILLIONS OF PEOPLE both SUPERHEROES and not out there that are all at Darkseid's command and he's just going to come waltzing in and put a bullet into the main villain! As cool as it was to see Batman killed by an Omega beam, don't you think the whole issue should've been about Batman and his escape with a subplot of what's going on with Superman?!?!? I would've have paid twice as much for that story like that with an ending like the one at the end of issue 6. That would have fucking ROCKED!! Instead I have to see Tawney the Tiger(not to be mistaken as Tony the Tiger, the famous spokesman of the always delicious Frosted Flakes) as he beats the shit out of Kalibak the Tiger. Why is Kalibak a tiger and every other New God a regular human being? Tawney the Tiger is now King of the Tigers!! HURRAY!! Who the fuck is TAWNEY THE TIGER?!?!?!? And WHY was there a scene from the last installment of NARNIA in my DC comic!?!?!?! There are so many other ridiculous moments that I could complain about (from the magic symbol of Meteron that makes everyone impervious to the Anti-Life equation or the terrible line of dialogue that explains that the Mad Hatter (of all villains??!?!?) made it possible for the STUPID mind control helmets to work) but alas I don't have the time or the energy to do so. Oh...and is it me or does that double page ad for the upcoming "I Am Batman" arc after Batman's "death" remind you of the Rise of the Supermen arc just after Superman's "death"? We all know how much that sucked. DC...do yourselves a favor and leave all the major events and storylines for Geoff Johns to write, ok? With ALL that being said if Grant Morrison finds a way to make EVERYTHING make sense to a nice tight ending, he will truly be a legend in my eyes. With that ALSO being said, I will not buy or read the "I Am Batman" arc unless Paul Dini is writing it! SO.....with the disappointment that was Secret Invasion, Final Crisis has left me with the feeling that there is no (NEW) GOD. Get it...get it...I made a joke out of misery!!! (sob....sob....)
