Three thoughts on this book:

-The art really worked. Some of the scenes creeped me out. Poor Turpin. It's fun to try to figure out who the New Gods minions are as represented by the "rotting wheeze engines of meat"

-The writing by Morrison still invokes either new or arcane DC constructs (i.e. 'the cult of Simyan and Mokkari', how all media might be brainwashing people with such obvious text), but is much more grounded in tying the plot together at this point. We can now see the teams aligned for good and evil

-The crisis definitely seems to be worldwide, and given Granny Goodness, universe-wide. It will be interesting to see if there are other Earth tie-ins. the scale of this crisis seems to be relegated to a single earth
