* I just recently got into this series and upon returning from the shop my brother asked to see a few of the back issues. He was hooked for good in the span of only an hour and now has read up to the latest issue. What I’m trying to say is there’s no reason for you not to be picking this up and celebrating what a great comic book can be.Forget fear and make the jump, you’ll be glad you did.*

The cover says it all, Matt Murdock (I hear he’s Daredevil) is walking a tight rope on the verge of snapping. He’s reeling from last issues epic beatdown and the unthinkable has happened. Fear has reared its ugly head and has set its sights on the man without fear.

What we get here is a Daredevil that’s no longer safe in the suit or on the street. Everyone is a potential enemy, and they’re all gunning for him. Daredevil isn’t afforded even a moments rest as Waid keeps the story moving at a frighteningly fast past. There’s twists and turns, and a genuinely unnerving reminder early on that Ikari is watching.

Like Matt Murdock we’re in limbo, surviving page to page, without a definite end in sight. But amidst the uncertainty there’s still hope. And that hope comes from the emotional core of the series, Foggy. You can see the pain in Matt’s eyes (I’m serious, Samnee is destined to be one best) when he asks Foggy what he must do. Like any great sidekick, albeit one in a hospital gown, he responds with the only appropriate answer.

“You fight.”

From there things heat up and push us towards next issue’s final confrontation. It’s certainly positioned to be a big one after this weeks big reveal.

The back-up story is the cherry on top. Sweet, simple, stunning. All of what you’ve come to expect from the DD crew, and the perfect breather after these last few intense issues. It’ll warm your heart, especially when you see Samnee’s vibrant golden age heroes in action (you’ll see what I mean).

Like I said earlier, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be picking this title up. If you’re looking for a constant guarantee in quality and bang for your buck, Daredevil’s got it all.
