If I wanted to read a Firestorm book I would have bought a Firestorm book. The changes made to Captain Atom’s powers feel unnecessary and bland. I really like some of the ideas presented in this book, especially Atom slowly losing his humanity, but the execution of these ideas are lacking. The Freddie Williams art is fun and for some reason I can’t quite really place works for the character and the book. A lot of that has to do with the excellent coloring of Jose Villarrubia. JT Krul is a capable writer and I hope this will get better but it will do so without me. I may check this out again later if the buzz is good.
