I enjoyed this issue a lot more than many reviewers on iFanboy and on other web sites.  On the whole, I thought the story amounted to a satisfying bridge issue between an interesting set up, and what I hope will be an exciting finale.  This issue was full of action, and it was immensely satisfying, for instance, to see Bucky Cap dismissively smack down Sin while saying, “Not even on your best day, you twisted little  #$@%@!”  I enjoyed the irony of the Red Skull saying on the last page, “Time for a new morning in America.”  Some iFanboys may not be old enough to know, and others who are old enough may not have been paying attention at the time, but “It’s morning in America” was the catchphrase for Ronald Reagan’s advertising when he ran for reelection.  Some reviewers have complained that the M.O.D.O.K.’s come out of left field.  My knowledge of A.I.M. continuity is not encyclopedic, but Arnim Zola is working for A.I.M. and the Skull, and A.I.M. created M.O.D.O.K.  Therefore, it does not seem odd that the Skull would get his hands on an army of little M.O.D.O.K.’s.  As for the delays in this series?  Oh well, we all know what the outcome is going to be.  I just hope the delays give the creators a chance to craft an entertaining conclusion.

            My biggest problem with this comic was the art, which seemed rushed.  The anatomy of some characters is all out of proportion.  Furthermore, it’s jarring to go from seeing Tom Grummett’s recent voluptuous Black Widow in “X-Men Forever” to the skinny Black Widow in this series.  This miniseries is more of an old fashioned action adventure superhero story than the spy story of the usual “Captain America” comic, so perhaps the more traditional style of Grummett, or someone like him, would have suited this title better.
