A review in brief(s):

This was almost awful. Some panels looked fine others … not so much.

Good lord, the feet (boots) on some characters looked as if they may have broken ankles. When Steve/Skull is walking down the steps of the Lincoln Memorial it looks like Goofy is walking down those steps.

Captain America used to be my favorite book. I don’t think I can say that anymore.

  1. Damn, I hope this series turns around. I used to love Bru’s Cap until a year or so ago. I dropped the series but was thinking about reading Reborn in trade or something. I happened to read the first issue or so on a lark a few weeks ago–and it seemed really bland.

    Reading reviews of this issue, it makes you wonder why they needed to extend the series an extra issue…since all that seems to have done is make issue 5 an affair with rushed art and little story progression.

    On the other hand, I’ve read a fair amount of very positive reviews for this series…but those reviews don’t really get into specifics about what’s good. The negative reviews for Reborn, however, tend to get into specifics. That tells me that most discerning readers who read closely…don’t care for the series. (But if, as far as Cap goes, you’re just a happy-go-lucky reader who enjoys it almost no matter what, good for you. I read some comics that way, but I can’t join you on Cap.)

  2. Maybe Capain Goofy is the first suble shade of the Disney takeover?

    I actually didn’t have a problem with the art.  But, then, it was 4 am by the time I read this book, so maybe I need to go back and reread it.  Also, I wasn’t reading Cap when it was excellent, so it’s non-excellence didn’t pain me as much.
