After finishing this issue, I can’t help but feel a little used. The blurb that promotes the issue promised something as important as issue #25 in this issue, and I’ll be damned if I didn’t find it. While I appreciate Brubaker taking some time to show the readers just what’s going on with Sharon Carter, I also sort of felt like this could have been done in a couple pages in a regular issue. For me, this issue lacked any real punch, any real sort of pay off, especially when considering that this was supposed to hold something crucial to the storyline. In no way did I feel like anything important was revealed, and for the things that were, well, they’re so obtuse, so hidden within the context of a future storyline that they don’t really matter. That said, this was a completely serviceable issue. The story was well told and the art was just fine. Just don’t pick this up expecting anything all that exciting.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good

  1. Solution: don’t read the blurbs.  They’re not the writer’s fault.

  2. @ohcaroline~  True.  But the issue still felt pretty lame in comparison to other issues.  I felt very ho-hu m about the whole thing.

  3. You don’t think that they just planted the seed for how Steve is gonna come back?  Because that’s what I saw in this issue.
