I recommend buying this (and most likely the other ‘Road’ one-shots) after Return of Bruce Wayne ends. Cause if don’t want to see Bruce Wayne in a comic before he actually returns then this isn’t the comic for you. It is so sad to see how a company, who saw their competitors screw up with Captain America, do the exact same thing here with Batman. Maybe they think they can screw up better then Marvel?

The issue as a whole is not really anything to write home about. I like Fabian Nicieza, I find him still underrated, but this is not the best he’s ever written. Nor is it the worse. It’s just…..there. I have a feeling I’m missing out on the Vicky Vale plot because it doesn’t seem like it just came out of no where for this single issue. I like how Nicieza handles the situation with Hush but I’ve seen that trick done before by Dini in ‘Detective Comics’. Everything else form the mysterious strange following Dick/Damien to those two just bantering back and forth….It just was a slog to read. Now I like Cliff Richards, he has done some great work. Here though I am just not impressed. Again it’s just there, nothing really stands out in this issue. Faces look a bit off, the layouts are pretty blah, and Richard’s clearly drew this as Bruce inside the costume when it’s clearly Dick the entire time.

So the only thing really worthwhile thing about this issue was the way DC and the artists for ‘Return of Bruce Wayne’ screwed this up. If you want to see the exploits of Dick and Damien after Bruce returns; then wait to read this issue. But I wouldn’t recommend it as a whole either way: it’s just a comic book. That’s the worst thing you could ever say about a comic.
