The cover for this issue definitely sets the tone for what’s in store for the reader.  The wry smile on Ollie’s face while he and Batwoman hide their true intentions from each other shows us just how much fun this book is going to be.  Ollie dominates this book, but in a good way, and adds an extra layer of fun to an already solid team book.  The strength of his character shines through as his relationship with Batwoman evolves the only way one seems to develop a relationship with Ollie: through a good old fashioned throw down.  Add to that the interesting introduction of a possible new team member plus the revelation that the villain is far more sinister than first imagined, and this book shines as a stand out title this week.

I want to add that the art is exceptional and is a true highlight of the book.  The characters have a softness to them while retaining the details and nuances that make them so unique.  I just wish we had more books that looked like this.

  1. It’s Batgirl, not Batwoman.

    Aside from that I agree.

  2. Doh!  Sorry about that! 🙂
